A back support chair seems like a must for someone that sits at a desk all day long. I wonder, though, if someone could sit on a stack of telephone books all day long if their posture was good enough?

I'm certainly not opposed to to anyone using a chair to support their back during a long day of sitting in front of the computer... so long as it's just enhancing a back that is regularly being strengthened in other ways. 

Growing dependent on a back support chair that continues to get more expensive and more complicated in the way it's being used to hold your back up and it's proper place.

Are you using the chair as a replacement for strengthening your back and making a lasting change in improving your posture? This could be a critical mistake.

Too many times I've seen my patients switch their chairs and spend a lot of money doing it. While I can understand that some chairs are just flat out bad for your posture, you can probably do just as well with a non-damaging posutre back support chair that doesn't break the bank and add in some posture exercises to make sure the chair has something to support.
