Deciding that you need to exercises for back pain can be a bit tricky. For the purpose of this discussion, I'm going to have to assume that you've been checked out by a qualified healthcare professional before beginning any kind of exercise program.

Afterall, back pain can be caused by many, many things. So please don't assume that because you have back pain all you need are exercises.

That being said, if you have gone the chiropractic or medical route and have gotten some relief but it's just not lasting, you probably need to start exercises for back pain to keep it from coming back.

The thing I hear the most is that the person trying to help their back pain will start a serious ab workout program. What about exercising the back? What about keeping it all balanced?

Exercises for back pain are really all about creating your own muscular back brace to keep everything in check. This will help you improve your posture and take pressure off the spinal joints that are contributing to your pain.
