Posture Information | Postural Development

Understanding postural development is a good way to figure out why your posture isn't exactly how you'd like it to be, or why you just don't
have good posture.
Your posture forms as a response to your normal daily activities and your body's ability to counteract anything that's not good for it.
Postural development occurs over long periods of time, and through the constant force of gravity pulling you down.
Everything you do in a typical day is done in front of you. Driving, eating, and working on the computer just to name a few of these
activities. What have you done for your back?
It's really difficult to come up with a regular daily thing you do that gives your back muscles a chance to strenghten and help you counteract
all the things that you must do in front of you as part of your routine.
I still talk to people that believe their bad posture is the result of osteoporosis... and nothing else. Most people with bad posture do not
have osteoporosis. They just haven't had a chance to keep their muscles in balance.
Working on your back will take some effort on your part, but thankfully it will not take anywhere near the same amount of time to balance out
ten hours of sitting at the computer. What else would you get to do with your day?
Instead, specific exercises that give your muscles the chance to get get stronger will go a long, long way in getting your posture where you want it to be.
